Today’s comic shows the braniac young man trying to score extra credit by building the best school website. He spends all his effort using every cool script, style, and computer code, without giving any thought to the actual design of what the website will do or be like.

Sounds like a lot of distance learning technologies, doesn’t it? All about bells and whistles and what sells, and no thought about what people will actually learn. We can do better! Hire me when I graduate an instructional designer! :-)
